Here's a bit of the detail (of course it is still tenative because of several factors) of the special Sunday race I told you all about earlier. Thanks to the hard work of Mike Huffman (Jeep62) we're off and running on what looks to be a really nice event at the Fredericktown Raceway.
We will be running the Pure Streets, RAMS Mini Stocks, Hornets/Wannabees, the amateur ATVs (and a special appearance of the Dwarf cars).
Gates will open at 3 p.m.
Hot laps at 4:15 p.m.
Racing at 4:45 p.m.

This is all going to be taking place during the Azalea Festival Weekend in Fredericktown. Grandstand admission will be $3 plus a couple of cans of food that will go to the Madison County Food Bank.

NOTE: These figures are based on at least a 16-car field! If we have under this amount we will have to amend these figures.
Trophies awarded for the amateur ATV class.
This will be a RAMS Points Series event and will pay accordingly.
The rain-date for this event is May 18th.

During the day on Sunday, May 4th, here's some of the other stuff going on with the festival leading up to the race.
They will be having a parade starting at 2 p.m. The car show awards presentation (and several of the race cars will be involved) will take place at 4 p.m.
I understand the festival will be centered this year around Jaycee Park.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at (573) 747-0566 or Mike at (573) 783-0097.

VERY IMPORTANT: We are seeking sponsors for this event. Sponsorship packages range from $50 to $500. All sponsors will be placed on all promotional materials such as posters, flyers, t-shirts, press releases and more.. The more sponsors we get the better the payout will be.... Don't forget, we are also trying to help out the Madison County Food Bank here..

We've already rounded up a pretty good group of sponsors for the Fredericktown Azalea Racefest. They include:

Parkland Trailer
Sargent Construction
Busenbark Trailer
KB Automotive
Kevin Ball's Auto Body
Missouri Natural Gas
Farmington Auto
Ron's Tire
Hulsey's Motorsports
Ken's C-Mart
Gifford Lumber (Fredericktown)
Tom's Shoes & Wester Wear
Circle S Meat Market
Donna's Trophies
Madison County Chiropractic
Driver's Seat

Thanks so much to these fine sponsors for helping with this event!

That's a good question...

That's a real good question... That was a group that I was told came to Denny and asked to be a part of the race. I'm not avoiding the issue, I simply don't know... That's one of those things Denny is going to have to work out himself.. I was kinda under the impression it was going to be an exhibition more than it was a race for the dwarfs, but you know how that sort of thing is, especially when we are talking this far in advance.

Thank you

I figured it was just the way you put it, there. If you find out anything more on the issue, please post it here or PM me with the details. I am not going to contact Denny about it. Thanks again. Randy

Randy

Randy: I was contacted by a couple dwarf owners that simply wanted to be part of the Sunday program. This was after the format was set and ready to go. At this point, I am looking around to see if I can find you guys some money and possibly add the dwarfs to the program for we would be pleased to have you as part of the show. Nonetheless, everything is still up in the air but I will keep you abreast of any developments that may present themselves regarding the dwarfs. Thanks and it's good to hear from you...Denny

this show is going to be a good one. i'm so glad the RAMS are a part of it. Denny, i also think the house is going to be packed. you better build more stands. see ya at the banquet............

What are the rules for the Hornet Wannabeez???? Are they as they are at I-55 and Tri-City, or are they different. One more thing, is it mandatory to have a license to race down there??? I don't even have permit yet, but am 16. Will I be able to race then.

fee???

What will the gate fee be for the hornet class, also what is the age to get into the pits???

Race feast 2003

This pertains to crash9 do u have a car to run. Age limit is 13 to brive on the track with a quick driven test.

43 pety this is the answer for ur ? it will be the same as the other classes no diff in the pits for wannabes or any onter cars, the age limit is flexiable for the pits but anyone regardless of age will be charged the same at the pits box due to insurance.

Hey Crash9

Why don't you take the extra step and build a mini stock.. We are growing rapidly and should have around 25 to 30 cars/trucks this year running the points series. Plus we run weekly at the Fredericktown Raceway. We've got drivers as young as 14 racing with us this season. Even if you would like to purchase a complete vehicle we've got a few of them still out there that are very reasonable and are basically race ready. They just need a few dents banged out or fenders replaced, you know. One guy has a pretty good truck that is complete with extra block and engine (along with some other goodies) for $1200!! The truck won the track championship at Doe Run last season so you know it's a decent truck. Just some food for thought.

Re: Hey Crash9

Jeff, that is what I want to do, but I have a few problems that cause that not to happen. First of all, we allready had this car in the driveway, it needed stripped out so we did it and are trying to find the money to get a cage put in it. I wouldn't mind buying a truck or car ready to go for $1200, but I just dont have $1200. Trust me, if there was a good rear wheel drive car out in the driveway I would fix it up and race with you guys in a heartbeat. I would take pay over a trophy any night.
Oh, and another reason I am going with a wannabee is because they race at I-55, and when the mods are put together thats where I'm racing at.

Re: Re: Hey Crash9

I got another idea. Since a stock front wheel drive escort could never beat a RAMS car, maybe you could let it run with ya! :D :D :D :D

We might try that at Fredericktown

Honestly, we might invite the guys to run with us some night just for the fun of it. As long as it's not a RAMS Point Series night it would be possible.
