dont know where your pump is located, but put more fuel in the tank, or jack up the back of the car, so the level of the fuel is higher than the pump. that way gravity will help get fuel to the pump. if it wont go any further than the pump, then there is a pump issue. if you are not getting fuel to the pump, then look for the reason to the tank.

My sportsman for some reason...........if i drained the fuel it hard a hard time priming. What i did........as midget said..........jacked my car up and got the fuel flowing to the fuel pump inlet. Then.......with line disconnected at the carb(ignition off) i cranked the motor over with a remote starter switch(mounted it on the outside firewall) till i seen fuel start trickling out the line going to the fuel bowel. Then.............i installed the line to the bowel..........cranked some more and walla. You want the line off the carb so its easier for air to purge out plug i never liked blowing things into my carb from a dry fuel line.

I always use a 90# gear oil bottle filled with fuel and stick the tapered neck into the fuel bowl vents and fill 'er up.
