Shreveport, Louisiana (10/03/17) – Garrett Alberson has enjoyed a strong past few seasons behind the wheel of the Childress Racing #F5 Black Diamond Chassis/ Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model. This year alone he has scored two wins and has claimed several podiums and Top-5 finishes.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and such is the case for Alberson and his tenure with Childress Racing.
“Mr. Raymond Childress has given me a great opportunity over the past few seasons, and I’m forever grateful for that,” Alberson noted. “Unfortunately due to various reasons he has made the decision to step away from racing, effective immediately. He has all of the equipment for sale. As a result, I’m left looking for a ride to finish this season and for all of next year.”
In 2017 Garrett has visited Victory Land with both the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) and the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS). In addition to his two wins he has 15 Top-5 finishes and 24 Top-10 finishes this season.
He’s currently second in the latest CCSDS standings with just one event remaining.
“I’m hoping I can find a ride to finish out this year in the last few events I have scheduled,” Alberson said. “I’ve learned a lot behind the wheel over the last few years. My goal is to continue learning and working my way into the top ranks of Dirt Late Model racing. I really hope to stay in the seat, and I am open to all competitive opportunities that have winning and learning as their primary goals.”
