NASCAR was off this weekend and the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series return to action at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Nationwide Series can be seen on ABC and the Sprint Cup race is airing on FOX. Radio coverage of both races is provided by PRN. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series' schedule resumes in Martinsville.

The NHRA Full Throttle Series returned from its break in grand fashion this past weekend at the 40th Annual Gatornationals. After failing to qualify for the season-opener in Pomona, former Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon earned his first Wally of the season at the expense of Cory McClenathan. On the Funny Car side, Bob Tasca III had his best weekend ever, earning his first-ever top qualifier and following it up with his first-ever class win. Along the way, he beat teammate and reigning GIR Funny Car winner Tim Wilkerson, 14-time champion John Force, and two-time champ Tony Pedregon. In Pro Stock, Jason Line topped Mopar driver Allen Johnson for the win and in Pro Stock Motorcycle, Hector "The Hammer" Arana provided an upset with a solid win over 2007 PSM champ and former Gateway winner Matt Smith. The NHRA Full Throttle Series is off this weekend but resumes its schedule the following weekend with the O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park.
