ROSWELL, Ga. (March 25) – While the total to be awarded remains the same, there’s a switch in some of the dollar amounts in Genesis Racing Shocks’ IMCA contingency awards program for 2011.
Top eligible drivers in regional standings for Modifieds and in national Late Model, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMod standings receive $350 product certificates.
Each runner-up gets $250 and third place drivers get $150.
Certificates valued at $6,000 will be mailed to Late Model drivers in September and to Modified and SportMod drivers in late October. Drivers in all four divisions are required to compete with four Genesis-manufactured shocks, display two Genesis decals on their race car and return a sign-up form to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1 to be eligible.
Genesis awards had previously been given in $150, $250 and $350 increments. The Roswell, Ga., company first gave contingencies to IMCA Modified and Late Model drivers in 2009. Prizes for the two SportMod divisions were added last year.
Information about Genesis shocks is available by calling 678 659-9454 and at the www.genesisshocks.com website.
"The technology behind the Genesis shock is outstanding and helped drive Austin Kaplan to the Northern SportMod national championship a year ago,” noted IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “My hope is that everyone who follows Austin's lead and runs Genesis shocks in 2011 will also receive those product certificates at our national banquet."
