MADISON, Ill. - Gateway International Raceway announced today it is now selling single-event tickets for its two NASCAR races this year, the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on July 19 and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Sept. 6. Previously, the tickets were available as a NASCAR Track Pack, where race fans could purchase a ticket for both events for one low price.

"We know that while a lot of our fans want to come to both events, sometimes that's just not possible," GIR Vice President and General Manager Lenny Batycki said. "They'll be able to attend one of our great events but, unfortunately, something will prevent them from being at the other. This way, we give them the ability to figure out their schedule, see what Gateway event they can come to, and purchase accordingly."

Both events are expected to be full of great talent as always. The inaugural Gateway International Raceway NASCAR Nationwide Series race will see Columbia, Mo.-native and 2006 winner Carl Edwards coming back to the 1.25-mile egg-shaped oval, this time as the defending series' champion, along with 2007 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series third-place finisher Clint Bowyer.

There will also be a fresh crop of stars representing the future of the sport with entries being fielded by 2007 GIR ARCA winner Bryan Clauson; 2006 GIR ARCA third-place finisher Brad Coleman; Hendrick Motorsports driver Landon Cassill, who made his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut here last year; and 2007 NASCAR Camping World Series champion Joey Lagano, making his Nationwide Series debut at Dover International Speedway in June, immediately after turning 18.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Sept. 6 will be a special one, as Craftsman says goodbye to the series after what will be 14 seasons of great racing. In addition to seeing some of the great veterans of NASCAR, including 2007 NCTS Champion Ron Hornaday, 2007 GIR winner Johnny Benson, and last year's championship runner-up Mike Skinner, fans will be able to see more great young guns in action. Drivers like Colin Braun, Erik Darnell, Richard Johns, and Justin Marks will give fans a glimpse of things to come in the world of NASCAR.

NASCAR Track Packs are also still available, allowing race fans the ability to purchase tickets for both events for one low price, as well as receive free parking and infield passes.
