Godfrey Speedway Set to Host Select C.A.R.S. Events
DuQuoin, IL-(2/22/06) Here in the heartland the "crate movement" is alive and well! A large number of race teams in the area are making the move to crate engine Late Models while making plans to participate in the Crate American Racing Series (C.A.R.S.). Local GM Performance Parts dealers are reporting a high number of crate engine sales and area race track promoters are taking notice.
Since its conception just a few short months ago, the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series has grown tremendously and continues to everyday. The C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series offers local crate late model racers the opportunity to race for the C.A.R.S. Championship at many of the areas finest race tracks and we are very pleased to announce the addition of another premier race track in the St. Louis area, Godfrey Speedway.
Godfrey Speedway promoters George and Josh Carroll have been watching and monitoring the growth in interest in the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series and see it as the wave of the future in late model racing. Having Godfrey Speedway on board helps to solidify what many race teams in the St.Louis area have been asking for, and that is the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series! Godfrey Speedway will run a select number of C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series "special events" in 2006. These events are set to be mid-week specials. C.A.R.S. Late Models utilize current area chassis & body rules. The only significant difference is the engines. C.A.R.S. Late Models are powered by GM Performance Parts Circle Track Crate Racing Engines, a substantial savings for the budget racers over todays cost of current Late Model engines.
