LaSalle, IL- On Saturday night, the front row was the place to be as all
four division feature winners triumphed from the helm on the high banks of
the LaSalle Speedway.

Highlighting the evenings' venue was the Street Stock Special which was
conquered by Joe Hamilton of Braidwood over the thirty two cars in
attendance.

When the Street Stocks lined up for A Feature it was brothers Joe and Jay
Hamilton at the front with Daniel Bark of Sandwich and Princeton's Travis
Rokey in the second row. By the end of the first lap, Joe was commanding the
field leaving Jay to battle it out with Bark, Rokey and Scott Schmitt.

Numerous yellows in the first several laps slowed things down but once the
field got back into their rhythm the Hamilton boys pulled away leaving
Charles Herhold, who was moving up through the pack, to fight off John
Peterson, and Chuck Provenzano for third.

Joe used lapped traffic to his advantage dodging back and forth while
distancing himself from Jay and the rest of the lead cars.

During the final lap, the third place car of Herhold was attempting to lap
Streator's Mike Taylor when the two made contact and Taylor powered him into
the turn two wall ending Herhold's impressive run.

The event ended under yellow checkered flags with Joe taking the top prize
over Jay, Chuck Leason, Tom Legner, Bark, Provenzano, John Peterson, John
Peterson of Shabbona, Jerry Legner, Herhold, Rokey, Oglesby's Nick Sell,
Taylor, Bobby Morgan Jr., Matt Weibel, Scott Schmitt, Dale Waugamon and Ken
Schiradelly.

During earlier action, Joe also won the Dash over Jay, Bark and Rokey. Gary
Schmitt, Provenzano, and Tom Legner each won their Heat races. Busch held on
to win the B Main feature with Hoffman, Vandermeir and Fleety Beltz
finishing behind him.

Former track champion Steve Tyne of Streator strutted his stuff in his
flashy number 99 as he powered up and stole the lead away from pole sitter
Ryan Dauber of Tonica during Lap 9 to secure the UMP Late Model feature win.

By the end of Lap 11, Tyne was stretching his lead as Dauber tried to reel
him in with Dixon's Tim Hamburg in third, Bensenville's Frank Reaber fourth,
Elmhurst's Jim Partipilo fifth, LaSalle's Mike Glynn sixth and Ladd's Dan
Bardell seventh.

It didn't matter for the Streator Streak whether he used the high side or
the lowest groove on the track to lap traffic as he was just the fastest car
for the entire twenty-five lap event. "The car felt really good tonight,"
Tyne mentioned after his second season victory.

During the final laps, Dauber appeared to fade as Hamburg moved into second
with Partipilo snagging third.

When Tyne seized the checkered, it was Hamburg crossing the line second in
front of Partipilo, Reaber, Dauber, Glynn, McHenry's Skip Martin, Bardell,
West Chicago's Jay Fiene, Jason Jaggers of Wyanet, Kirkland's Tom Markham,
Dekalb's Mike Mataragas, Dan Thacker of Streator, Ryan McQueary, Matt Ramer,
Chuck Steele, Billy Weistart Jr. and Jan Tiberi.

Dauber picked up the Dash victory for the third week in a row while Tyne
finished second to him over Partipilo and Reaber.

McQueary won the first Heat race over Scott Johnson, Danny Autullo and Scott
Anderson. Jan Tiberi held off Thacker, Fiene and Markham for the second Heat
win. Glynn won the fast Heat for the second week in a row finishing ahead of
Bardell and former track champions Reaber and Tyne.

Steele and McQueary earned the transfer positions from the semi feature.

Tonica's Eric Dauber posted the win for the Midwestern Late Model feature
event after holding off a hard charging Ralph Markham of Maple Park.

Within the first lap out, Eric had pulled off to a quick lead as his front
row starting partner, Mike Lock of Tonica, fended off early attempts by
Ottawa's Butch Hampson and Ralph. While Eric was busy cruising through
lapped traffic, Ralph and Butch battled while John Johnson and Darin Furar
worked for fourth.

A yellow on Lap 14 slowed the action down bringing the leaders back to a
bumper to bumper single file start. It didn't take Eric long to sail away
from Ralph once under green.

By Lap 23, Ralph was working the low side and had narrowed the distance
between himself and the leader. As the final lap was signaled Ralph was on
Eric's back quarter panel and looking to make a move.

At the finish line, it was Eric in front of Ralph, Hampson, TJ Markham,
Furar, Brian Moon, Johnson, John Piccatto, Joe Burba, Johnny Heath, Al
Christy, Larry Yardley, Brian Ray, Rob Piper, Charlie Olson, Mike Lock, Rich
Leach, Wally Forsythe, Jim Westaway, Mike Migliorini and Reno Markham.

Leach barely beat Christy at the line for the first Heat win. Moon won the
second Heat over Eric, Ralph and TJ.

Keith Piano made his way to victory lane after winning the Midwestern
Sportsman feature race. The young Oglesby driver started on the pole next to
former division champion Scott Hatzer and wasted no time cruising into the
lead.

When the final lap was scored Piano was finished uncontested before Hatzer,
Brian Claudnic, Duane McCarville, Sharon Schlappi, Tony Emralino, Duane
Peterson, Scott Cimei, Darryl Grandys, Eric Rebholz, Shane Hill, Jeff
Hartzell, BJ Mires, Jim Guisto, Bill Satek, BJ Grabow, Jason Abens, Kevin
Hoffman and Jerry Vance.

Piano and Hatzer each won their Heat races.

Next Saturday night the Speedway has a regular race program scheduled along
with a fireworks display.
