Hats off to Highland

Chad Burgess

Driver of the 77 Hornet
Great job last night at keeping the track race ready. I'm still shocked that there was racing, but i'm not complaining. The races were fast and it went pretty good.

it was a great night at highland. congrats to all the drivers, good racing and show. had two rain delays and yet still the races was over on time. good job on running the track, charlie

Hats off to Charlie, the driver, the track crew and the fans for getting the show it. The showers were light, but enough to make the track slick. If the cars had not helped, the track would not have been racable.
The show was not bad and it was the only one to get the program in last night. Good job.

WTG Highland, Pevely Guy What Were You Thinking!!!

Great job Highland for getting that show in, wish I could've been there. I cannot believe they ran! I met some friends in Collinsville after they declared I-55 a rain out and when we left and went back home (not far from Highland), it was nothing but rain and we had no idea they were running....because...

Some guy at the track at Pevely told my friend Dave, who was at the track when they called the races, that, quote; "everything is rained out around here, Mt. Vernon, Highland, Mont. Cty, etc." Arghhh!

Congrats Frankie M. on the championship, you DESERVE it big time!!! Good luck on the B'ville championship as well. I'll hopefully be able to see some racing the last night at B'ville as that's the weekend I come home for the F1 race.

GREAT JOB DONE BY ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS TO ALL THE DRIVERS WHO WON THE CHAMPIONSHIPS AT HIGHLAND, AND EVENTS THIS PAST YEAR. THE TRACK STAYED GOOD BECAUSE OF THE PREP, THE TRUCKS AND ESP THE DRIVERS THAT CAME OUT AND PACKED THE TRACK WHEN IT STARTED RAINING SO THEY COULD RACE LAST NIGHT. I ALSO WANTED TO THANK ALL THE DRIVERS FOR BEING READY FOR EVERY HEAT, DASH, AND FEATURE. EVEN WITH THE LIGHT MIST COMING DOWN THE DRIVERS WERE ALL READY TO RACE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PREV RACE WAS COMPLETED.
WHILE ALL THE DRIVERS WERE OUT ON THE TRACK WHEN THE RAIN CAME, NIKI AND LEANN SAID "HEY KATHY WASN'T IT THIS TIME LAST YEAR THAT YOU FELL FLAT ON YOUR BUTT OUT ON THE TRACK IN FRONT OF THE FLAGMAN AND WHOLE GRANDSTANDS LINING UP THE LATE MODELS FOR THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP FEATURE????? IF ANYONE REMEMBERS THAT {I DON'T THINK THAT ANYONE SAW IT OR REMEMBERS THAT DO YOU? HA HA} THAT WAS NOT ONE OF MY MOST GRACEFUL MOMENTS AND I'D HOPED I WASN'T GOING TO REPEAT IT THIS YEAR.

NOT 5 MINUTES AFTER THE TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE------
THERE HE STOOD WITH THE FUEL STICK {AT MY TURN 4 GATE}IN HAND WAVING IT TO HIS SON AND HIS PIT CREW {WHO WERE IN THE INFIELD} HE TOOK 2 GIANT LEEPS FORWARD IN KIND OF JOGGING MANNER AND THEN HIS FEET FLEW OUT FROM UNDERNEATH HIM ON THE SLIMEY RACETRACK AND DOWN HE WENT ON HIS BACK SLIDING TO THE VERY BOTTOM, HE NEVER DID LET GO OF THAT FUEL STICK THOUGH {GOOD JOB WHAT DEDICATION} GRACEFULLY TRYING TO STAND UP, AND WHEN HE GOT TO HIS FEET HE WAVED THE STICK AND BOWED TO THE CROWD PROUDLY WHEN HE HEARD THE CROWD ROAR. {I GAVE HIM A 10}

WHO WAS THIS MAN OF GRACE WHO TRIED TO OUT DO ME BY FALLING DOWN ON THE TRACK THIS YEAR?????????????

IT WAS NONE OTHER THAN-- SALTY DOGS DAD, MR. SALTER

AFTER TRYING TO GET OVER TO HIM TO HELP HIM UP AND SEEING IF HE WAS OK, I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD I THOUGHT I'D DIE!!!!!
TO REASSURE EVERYONE, HE WAS OK. WOW, WHAT GREAT ENTERTAINMENT AND IT WASN'T EVEN INTERMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE RACING THE GREAT SPORT IT IS.

THANKS FOR A FUN YEAR,
KATHY DRAEGE
THE BIG MOUTH PITSTEWARD :D
