Haubstadt results so far..........

Please correct the post, I know that Melvin couldn't have won, because I just read the post about he is only fast at Mt Vernon and he can't run with the big dawgs.

Seriously thanks for the updates. : )

Oh I'm sure that they'll be complaining saying that Melvin wouldn't have won if O'neal hadn't been penalized. Even still he would have finished 2nd and who knows, he may have made the pass for the lead anyway. Not to mention that penalties are part of racing and if Melvin is the one to receive the good fortune due to someone else's mistake he's still the winner!!! Don't get me wrong though, I'm still pulling for O'neal on the Championship but it's good to see Rodney win after all the talk recently. Now lets get a win for Korte, Martin, Faust, Dixon, and what the heck Clay Bauman too!!!! I love 'em all!!!!!

Great job tonight Frankie good solid top 5! Yea i was pleased to see alot of the locals in the top 10! The track was very fast tonight , it was one of the best races i have ever in a long time! I just hope the guy in the pits ends up ok! But all in all i was very pleased with the racing tonight, I just hope the rest of the races this summer are just as exciting! Oh and i was also wondering if anyone else knew, but was that Scott Weber in the 71x 4j scott weber? he drove just like him so i am assuming it was! He flew through the field he came from 18th to 3rd!

Not bashing Melvin here, but I don't think he could have passed O'Neal. He might have caught him but it was extremely difficult to pass without making a big slide job. The track never really developed a cushion tonight for whatever reason like it usually will. For most of the heats the cars all ran on the bottom and wore it out. At intermission the crew went out and worked really hard to work in the top to get a cushion which worked very well except that they were so fast around the top nobody could run the bottom and keep up. Did not see what happened with O'Neal except that he was in lapped traffic at the time. Melvin did do a great job to keep O'Neal from getting back by because when O'Neal was out front he was in different area code.

Oh yeah forgot that is the same Scott Weber. He runs at Haubstadt in that car all the time. Has probably won 3 or 4 features at Haubstadt this year.

oic thats cool! i have never seen him run anything but the 4j so that was new to me! If he would have had about 5 more laps he might have caught the leader because he was flying! who owns that car is it his to?

There are tires buried around the low side that stick up only about 1/4 of the tire above the dirt. They said in the driver's meeting if you get your left side tires underneath the buries tires, they would throw a yellow and penalize you one spot. O'Neal did it a couple of times while trying to work lapped traffic and they threw the yellow and penalized him one spot.

I seen tons of cars do the same thing in the heat races though,no penalty was givin then though.I think if O'neal passed for a spot that would have been different, but he was passing lap cars for goodness sake!!!!That was the first time ive seen that track one groove and there was no passing. The only passes I seen were huge slide jobs!!!!!!
