FREEPORT, Ill. (Jan. 24) -- Officials from the United States Racing Association have announced they have renewed their partnership with Hooker Custom Harness, Inc., for the 2011 racing season.
Hooker Harness will award certificates to the driver finishing fifth in USRA Weekly Racing Series national points in the USRA RHS Modified, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Car, USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mod and USRA Hobby Stock divisions.
“Hooker Harness is looking forward to continuing our relationship with the USRA in 2011 and beyond,” said Hooker Harness’ Scott McPhillips. “The USRA has effectively promoted our vision to increase the safety and comfort short track racers. We have applied our decades of aircraft experience to provide the tightest and most comfortable seat belts available to short track racers.”
Founded in the early 1970’s by Jack Hooker, Hooker Harness has earned the reputation as the leading and most respected producer of Aerobatic aircraft seatbelts and shoulder harnesses.
The background in aviation and their commitment to quality, consistency and customer service provided a foundation for Hooker Harnesses successful emergence into the racing industry.
Each seatbelt and shoulder harness is specifically tailored to meet the individual needs and requirements of each individual driver, vehicle and sanctioning body, therefore they are not produced until they are ordered.
Custom production also provided the driver with the most current restraint system available.

The USRA was founded in 2002 with the sanctioning of Modifieds and Stock Cars at the Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetteville, Ark. Hobby Stocks were added in 2003 and the organization grew steadily over the next three years with 14 tracks hosting USRA events in 2005. The B-Mod division arrived on the scene in 2006 and since then, USRA Weekly Racing Series national champions have been crowned in all four premier divisions.
