(Flora, IL) The summer heat is once again upon us, but nothing has been hotter than the racing action at Clay County Speedway this season! Race fans at Clay County Raceway located in Flora, IL have been treated to some of the best racing action around as the regular competitors at Clay County Speedway have enjoyed racing on the always fast and well prepared 1/3 mile racing surface.

The action this coming Saturday, June 21 at Clay County Speedway will once again include the Fastrak (Crate) Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks and the always daring UMP Four-Cylinder Hornets! Race fans can also win a pair of FREE passes to Clay County Speedway by listening to “Moose In The Morning” and “Motor Racing Monday” on The Rock WDLJ 97.5 FM or www.WDLJ.com

Be sure and watch for announcements concerning all the upcoming special events at Clay County Speedway including the $500 to win UMP Four-Cylinder Special scheduled for Saturday, July 5, as well as other events. Clay County Speedway is also in negotiations with Fastrak Midwest for the first ever Fastrak Midwest Touring event to be held at Clay County Speedway.

Last week in the Fastrak Late Model class, Matt Santel of New Memphis, IL won his first ever Fastrak Crate Late Model Feature event in his 604 powered, Kehrer Bros Roofing #92 machine over Bobby Dauderman driver of the TMCI/ Performance Race Fuels #18 Rocket Chassis. Rylan Dagg finished third with Casey Montague taking the fourth place position. Can Matt Santel back up last weeks performance this weekend? Race fans will have to come out and see!

The UMP Modifieds have been one of the highlights of Clay County Speedway’s racing action this year with a number of different feature winners. Jesse Snyder driver of the #X UMP Modified picked up his first feature win of the season last Saturday night and is looking to do the same again this week!

The UMP Street Stock division has put on some great racing action every night this season and should prove to do so once again this week as J.R. Dunlap looks to repeat last week performance and take another feature win!

The always daring UMP Four-Cylinder Hornets have been having excellent car counts and have put on some great racing action, trying to prove that it doesn’t take a lot of money to have a little fun! Mike Mandrell of Benton, IL was back to his winning ways last week in the lightning fast B-O machine, proving he is still a force to be dealt with any time he shows up at Clay County Speedway. Those chasing UMP bonus points should consider Clay County Speedway for those “bonus” points as weekly car counts have been great and don’t forget the $500 to win special on Saturday, July 5!
