Howards Cams & Racing Components expands IMCA award program

OSHKOSH, Wis. (April 26) – More awards for IMCA rookie drivers are in store this season, courtesy of Howards Cams & Rac¬ing Components.
One rookie feature winner will receive a flat tappet cam each month from April through November from the Oshkosh, Wis., high performance parts manufacturer.
The April drawing winner was Zac Sydney of Farmersville, Texas, first in the April 1 Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMod feature at Boyd Raceway.
Product certificates will be mailed from the IMCA home office.
Rookies of the year in each of the five Modified regions, both Stock Car and both Hobby Stock regions, in national Late Model, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMod standings, and in the Deery Brothers Summer Series all receive $100 cash and $150 product certificates.
Second through fifth place rookies in the Modified, Stock and Hobby regions, Late Model and SportMod national stand¬ings and in Deery points earn $75 product certificates.
Champions of the Modified Dakota Track Side Dakota Classic Tour, EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour, JR Motor¬sports Hawk¬eye Dirt Tour, Larry Shaw Racing Blood, Sweat and Tears Series and World Products Empire State Series, the Deery Series for Late Models and the Dakota Track Side Classic Series and World Products Great American Series for Stock Cars receive $100 product certificates.
“This program has continually evolved over the course of the past few years, and Howards Cams continues to explore new and creative ways to give back to IMCA racers,” said Kevin Yoder, director of marketing for IMCA. “The addition of the monthly cam awards gives even more value to a driver winning a feature in his first year in a new division."
