Howards Cams & Racing Components ups award ante for IMCA rookie drivers

OSHKOSH, Wis. (April 24) – New awards for rookie drivers in six divisions highlight Howards Cams & Racing Components’ second-year IMCA contingency awards program.

Rookies of the year in each of the five Modified regions and both of the two Stock Car and Hobby Stock regions, as well as top freshmen in the national Late Model, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Southwest Racing Specialties Southern SportMod and Deery Brothers Summer Series ranks all receive $100 cash and $150 product certificates from Howards.

Second through fifth place rookies in the Modified, Stock and Hobby regions, and Late Model and SportMod national standings earn $75 product certificates.

Howards had given product certificates to regional and national rookies of the year last season.

Champions of the Modified Big Dog Dakota Classic Tour, EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour, JR Motorsports Hawk¬eye Dirt Tour, Larry Shaw Racing Blood, Sweat and Tears Series, and World Products Empire State Series, the Deery Series for Late Models and the Great American Stock Car Series and Dakota Track Side Classic Series receive $100 product certificates, as does the Lady Eagle award recipient.

The Oshkosh, Wis., high performance parts manufacturer of cams and valve trains, cranks, rods and pistons recently acquired Custom Camshaft Company, a purchase that will increase Howards’ production capacity and capabilities.
