Hull Grabs Checkered Flag In Sprint Feature at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (May 7, 2005) Jerrod Hull of Sikeston held off the charge of Joey Montgomery to pick up the checkered flag Saturday night during the Sprint Car feature at the St. Francois County Raceway. Tim Montgomery finished in third place with Tommy Worley Jr. fourth and Jason Keith fifth. They were followed by Alex Shanks, Bob Thoman, Korey Weyant, Jimmy Hurley and Kent Buckley.

In the first heat race, Hurley was the winner with Joey Montgomery second and Timmy Montgomery third. Timmy Moss won the second heat with Shanks second and Kenny Hambrick third. Terry Babb won the third heat with Hull second and Keith third. Keith Burch won the "B" main with Jay Landolt second and A.J. Bruns third. Hurley won the trophy dash with Hull second and Joey Montgomery third.

In the Modified class, Mike Francis of Fredericktown won his second consecutive feature win at SFCR. Billy "The Kid" Smith finished in second place with Tommy Worley Sr. third, Jeremy Greenwalt fourth and Brent Thompson fifth. They were followed by Chris Boyd, Lou Driemeier, Keny Kennedy, Pete Koenig and John Reando. Francis won the first heat with John Bohn second and Brad McKinnon third. Smith won the second heat with Mike Crader second and Driemeier third. Worley won the third heat with Tony Palmer second and Boyd third. Kennedy won the "B" main with Greenwalt second and Doug DeClue third.

In the Sportsmen class, Kasey Nations of Park Hills also won his second consecutive feature win Saturday night. Nations held off the challenge of Kevin Mosier for the victory with Kenny Harris taking third place, Randy Forster fourth and Leonard Betsch fifth. They were followed by Doug Savage, Donnie Mosier, Bruce Boren, Tim Phares and Shawn Griffon. Forster won the first heat with Donnie Mosier second and Dustin Homan third. Nations won the second heat with Savage second and Phares third.

Tom Dickerman won his first-ever feature race in the 600cc Multi class. Jimmy Bridgeman settled for second place with Joey Boyd third, Rodney Williams fourth and Tommy Boyd fifth. They were followed by Andy Moss, Junior Ferguson, Brandon Nixon, Ray Statler and Eric Ziegler. Dickerman won the first heat with Bridgeman second and Ferguson third. Joey Boyd won the second heat with Ziegler second and Williams third.

In the Pure Street class, Mark Todd also won back-to-back features at SFCR with his win Saturday night. Mike Abney captured second place with Bill Skaggs third, Theran Pearl fourth and Chris Webb fifth. They were followed by Greg Casey, Chad DeSpain, Chris Cannon, Mike Savage and Ryan Robbins. Todd won the first heat with Skaggs second and Casey third. Abney won the second heat with Travis Goodman second and Pearl third.
