Farmington, MO (June 26) -- Jarrod Hull picked up his first victory of the season Saturday night at St Francois County Raceway. Starting on the pole position, by virtue of his Dash win, Hull worked magic with his car and dominated the field. Joey Montgomery and Rod Crabdree had a for runner-up and show positions. Both drivers exchanging position more than once, with Montgomery winning the battle. Jimmy Hurley would get by Crabdree for the show spot. Steve Short after a lap 2 spin came roaring back for a nice finish in the top five. Two caution periods slowed the event.

After a week of getting his car back together, Kenny Schrader and his Federated Auto Parts #9 Modified controlled the field. Leading all 20 laps in the $1000 to win main, Schrader did have some competition. Matt Eaton struggled all year but put a good run together and finished third behind Billy Smith. Matt, Billy and Brent Thompson put on a great show for the crowd in the run for runner-up honors. This epic battle could be a normal Saturday Night affair, with Schrader being the wild card in the mix. Four cautions came out in the event, two for debris and one for a spinning car. The first was the most costly came on the opening lap as Tim Hancock jumped the cushion from his front row starting spot. He went to the end of the field and brought it home with a fine sixth place finish.

Eddie Gross found the track to his win by playing bottom feeder. Gross pretty much had his car glued to the bottom groove. His first win in the B-Modifieds. Gross another campaigner from the Pure Street Division had clutch issues early in the season. After getting that straightened out, his car found the characteristics of a good handling machine. This helped produce the win. Another driver having great night, Shannon Burch, The “Fling Fenceman” came home in the second spot. Burch is a past Champion of the RAMS Division. John Bohn finally got to keep it all in one piece and takes third place honors. Brian Richards a winner this season makes it to fourth and Shane Blair having one of his better runs complete the Top five.

In the Class being dominated by Chris Boyd, the Pure Street Division feature was shaping up for a “barn burner.” As mentioned Boyd has won several feature in 2010 and would start outside row one alongside Charlie Savage. When the green waved, Boyd’s car had not power and he was done for the night. This would leave Savage, Jimmy Farris and 2009 Champion, Brian Blair, to sort out the win. Both Farris and Blair would pressure the leader. Farris had to settle for the second place laurels. Brian Blair had what appeared to be tire issues and finished thirteenth in his first outing of 2010. Eric Sarakas put together fine run and finished a strong third. Brian Stephens, in his second showing of the year takes fourth and Dusty Homan completes the top five.

The annual visit of the Kids Caged Karts found Chandler Franklin taking home the checkerd flag. Lee Stuppy, a past winner, ran a distant second, followed by Kasey Buckley. There were no accidents in the years running of the event.

Next Saturday evening, July 3, will be the annual fireworks display. Also on this night the classes will be running for double points.
