Defending Series Champion, Jerrod Hull, has become the first repeat winner of the 2008 O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series campaign on Saturday June 21^st , taking the checkers at the Montgomery County Speedway in New Florence, Missouri. Hull, who started on the pole of the event, was tightly contested throughout the race primarily by his closest points nemesis AJ Bruns.

“The Ozarc Gas Welding Supercenter #12 was great all night, we didn’t really make many adjustments for the feature except putting on fresh Hoosier Racing tires,” stated the Sikeston, Missouri native. “It was tough out there especially when we came up on lapped traffic, it was one of those situations where you were hoping for some yellow flags. It was a lot of fun racing tonight and it has been a good weekend for our team.”

The night’s events got off to the traditional fast start with Terre Haute, Indiana’s Paul May setting the pace with quick time in his #71 mount. May found the right line at the right time and made the most out of it on a track that was threatening to take rubber very early.

The Heat races were once again run with a lot of passing opportunities still available. Alex Shanks, driving the Shane Wade Enterprises #39W would take the first heat after starting 3^rd . John “Sparky” Pate would take the second in the Doc Sloan owned #A12 from the outside pole. Heat 3 belonged to Jeremy Standridge in the Standridge Web Designs #10S.

In the O’Reilly Auto Parts Dash event, Jimmy Hurley in the Action Graphics #35 machine would lead the way. Hurley broke out to an early lead and rode comfortably to the victory in the 6 car/6 lap “Member’s Only” event good for points toward the season championship.

With preliminary events taken care of, it was time for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Feature event. Jerrod Hull and Tyler Thompson would pace the field to the green with Mark Shishekan in just his 2^nd 410 race and
2007 Rookie of the Year Brad Greer following in the second row. The event was slowed by yellow flags 4 times, with no red flags ever being thrown, proving once again that these racers are some of the “Best in the Midwest.”

AJ Bruns would take home the runner-up honors in the Bruns family #44, Paul May completed the podium. Tyler Thompson in the USMD Medical Development #11 would settle for fourth and Tiffany Wyzard in the Wyzard Cleaning #5W would round out the Top 5.
