Jonesboro, Arkansas (07/21/10) – Hunter Rasdon spent the last week competing in the COMP Cams SMP Speedweek Presented By Racing Head Service in his #R5 MSH Motorsports/ATG Electrical Contractors/GRT By Rasdon/Roush Yates Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified.

After a long hiatus from the track, Hunter finally returned to action as the COMP Cams SMP Speedweek got underway at Brills Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma on Tuesday night. The event saw a stellar field of 52 Open Wheel Modifieds enter the event. Rasdon would finish second in his qualifier to earn the 8th starting spot for the 30 lap feature. During the course of the event, Hunter raced his way to a sixth place finish.

The team entered Round #3 of the COMP Cams SMP Speedweek on Wednesday night at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma. A field of 32 entries signed in for battle on the historic, 1/2 mile oval. In MRW Wheels Qualifying Rasdon rocketed to the fastest lap in his group and the second fastest lap overall to earn the outside front row starting spot next to pole-sitter, Jason Hughes. Hunter would get crossed up on the first lap as he got into the turn three wall on the first lap causing him to lose several spots. He would rebound to an 8th place finish during the remainder of the event.

Round #4 of the COMP Cams SMP Speedweek was held on Thursday night at Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, Oklahoma. With 29 Open Wheel Modifieds on hand, Hunter would battle greasy track conditions in time trials, and as a result had to start deep in his qualifier. Despite starting back in the pack, he would advance to a third place finish to earn the 14th starting position for the 30 lap feature. He would battle around mid-pack for much of the event before recording an 11th place finish.

On Friday night the action moved to Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kansas for Round #5 of the COMP Cams SMP Speedweek. Hunter fell just short of locking into the feature via time trials, but went on to win his b-main event from the front row to pick up the 9th starting spot for the feature event. On the tight, 1/4 mile Hunter would methodically work his way through the pack and by the end of the race he was shown with a fourth place finish behind event winner, Johnny Bone Jr., Jesse Stovall, and Rodney Sanders.

MSH Motorsports wrapped up the 2010 COMP Cams SMP Speedweek on Saturday night at Mid America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. With 37 entries on hand, Hunter qualified for the main event, but would retire early from the event with mechanical issues. He was credited with a 21st place finish. He finished third in the final COMP Cams SMP Speedweek points behind Champion, Allen Chickering, and Randy Todd.
