Farmington, MO -- (July 17) -- Faculty members from Mineral Area College and Missouri Safety Patrol were on hand to watch Jimmy Hurley, Springfield, IL continue his hot streak and pull off his second “Hat Trick” of the season. Hurley’s machine, sponsored by Action Graphics, J & S Motorsports and Miles Chevrolet, controlled the field in the 25 Lap event. Starting on the pole position, he would out drag outside starter Tom Dickerman into turn one and never look back. Robbie Standridge and Casey Barnhouse would be in the mix too. Four caution periods would slow the event. Spinning, stopped cars and debris accounted for the cautions. Several drivers would contact the wall in this event. Jimmy Bridgeman and Robbie Standridge making the most serious contact. Joey Boyd rebounded from a flip in his heat and finished a very respectable eighth. Following Hurley and Dickerman at the finish is third place runner Keith Burch; fourth goes to Barnhouse and Mark Shirshekan complete the top five.

By virtue of winning the dash Jeremy Greenwalt would set out to win tonight’s feature event. However, Greenwalt would slip out of the groove, open up the bottom and allow Brent Thompson to skate through for the lead. On a track where passing for position was at a premium, Greenwalt fell in line and held on for the runner up position. Third place honors goes to Kasey Nations. Kent Nation brings it home in fourth; with Danny Resinger recording his first top five finish of the season. Thompson acknowledged in his post race interview that he was surprised the Jeremy slipped up and opened the bottom. Point’s leader Billy Smith had issues in the motor compartment and retired late in the race.

First time heat winner Jack Halbert, would start the B-Mod feature on the pole. He and Kenny Harris made the made rush to turn one and the lead. Halbert would prevail. Also charging hard were Brian Richards, Kyle Stolzer and Greg Price. Halbert held the lead for a short time, but Harris got by and claimed the victory for the 113th time in his storied career. He picked up number 112 on Friday night at Doe Run Raceway. Kyle Stolzer put pressure on Harris the remaining distance but came up just short in his bid for a win. Former winner Brian Richards finished third, followed by early leader Jack Halbert for fourth. Eddie Gross completes the top five.

Pure Street action found first time visitor Paul Belken man handling the field for the win. Belken started on the pole and was pressured by runner up finisher Charlie Savage. The two seasoned veterans put on a nice display of racing for the fans. Jimmy Farris having a good run in his mount finishes third. 2009 Champion, Brian Blair, managed to keep his car together after heats and ran a very respectable fourth. Point Leader, Chris Boyd, came home in the fifth spot.
