Farmington , MO – (September 1, 2007) The Labor Day weekend at St Francois County Raceway had super racing in all classes. Most people were off for three days and were enjoying the cooler weather and exciting racing.

Sprint car division saw Jimmy Hurley, Springfield , IL win his heat, the dash and the A-Main to claim the “hat trick.” The feature event came out with guns blazing as Hurley, Tommy Worley and Joey Montgomery took out of the gate quickly. Stretching out on each lap it did not take long for the cars to get into lapped traffic. Each driver having to decide what line to follow. Positively no room for error as they weaved through traffic like a hot knife through butter. As these drivers worked the slower cars, Steve Short, Tom Dickerman and Jason Keith had a great race of their own. Two cautions would slow the event. Lap 12, Rod Crabdree for a spin and Lap 18 for Nathan Higgins as he got into the wall and came down in front of “Doc” Sloan. Neither driver could continue and were out.

Modifieds had terrible luck in starting their feature event. On the opening lap Scott Burge, Mike Francis, and Doug DeClue got tangled together and all were out. Two more tries with no luck. Single file is the order. The field did complete a lap before Jonathan Self took his car to the wall and another caution. The final caution cae out for debris on Lap 2. After all the trouble starting, it finished in fine fashion. David Shepard, Michael Abney and Billy Smith all wanted top slot. Only could have it. Pressure was on from Smith, Abney, Shannon Blair and Kasey Nations. These drivers took it to the end in fine style and gave the crowd more to cheer about.
