Lebanon,Mo.-The High-banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway will not be in action on either May 24th or May 31st to put down a new dirt surface.
The Current red clay surface has alot of drivers concerned over tire wear and the extreme hardness on the equipment.
Promoter Randy Mooneyham said this was a tough decision as things had been different than last season. This season has saw side by side action each week with 2 grooves being shown, but Mooneyham is listening to many drivers around the area, and feels that this is the time to make the switch.
The track was scheduled with a special fan price of $5 for this weeekend's Action and a special kids event was scheduled along with the regular racing shows.
The track will reopen on Sat Night June 7th with a regular points show in the Central-Bank Racing Series featuring UMP LateModels,USRA Modifieds,B-Mods,Bombers,factoryStocks,Rookies and SuperStocks
The next scheduled special at I-44 is June 11th as the AllState Insurance DLRA LateModels will be chalanging the MSRA LateModels out of Arkansas along with points races for USRA Modifieds,B-Mods and Bombers.Currently if the same driver in the USRA Modified feature can win at both LebanonMidway and I-44,there is bonus money up for grabs.
The Speedway is hosting it's Silver Anniversary of Racing this season and still has a very aggressive schedule for the 2008 season.
