IMCA Modifieds, Stocks, Hobbies run at Cardinal’s Sept. 3-4 Sheen Memorial

EUNICE, N.M. (Sept. 1) – Three sanctioned divisions are on the Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3-4 Kelly Sheen Memorial program at Cardinal Motor Speedway.
IMCA Modifieds race for $1,200 to win and a minimum of $125 to start their 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars vie for $750 to win and $75 to start, while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $500 to win and $50 to start.
National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded and 20 cars will comprise the main event fields. Non-transfer money is $75 for Modifieds, $50 for Stocks and $25 for Hobbies.
Gates open and registration starts at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, with an open practice from 7-10 p.m. Kendall’s Kountry Meat Market provides food and beverages for the party in the pits that follows.
Gates open at 3 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and qualifying starts at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The top eight finishers from Saturday qualifying features make up the front four rows in Sunday’s main events; Saturday qualifiers are not allowed to change engines and keep their spot in the Sunday show.
VP Racing Fuels, Bodies by Donnie, Cody Kayes and Mesa Verde Staffing Partners will give feature winner, hard charger and/or hard luck awards.
Spectator admission will be $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, students and military personnel with ID, and free for kids six and under. Pit passes are $25.
