Westville, Oklahoma (09/20/11) – Jason Hughes claimed his fourth Casey's General USMTS Hunt win of the season behind the wheel of his #12 West Siloam Pawn/Gressel Racing/Hughes/Mullins Race Engines Open Wheel Modified on Thursday night at Humboldt Speedway.

Fresh from enjoying a one week break, Jason returned to the Casey's General USMTS tour on Thursday night at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) with a $2,000-to-win event, which served as a make-up from a rainout earlier in the tour. A talent-laden field of 48 competitors entered the program, and a big number at the pill draw left Hughes starting ninth in his heat race. He would pass four cars on his way to a fifth place finish, which left him just shy of accumulating enough points to lock into the feature. As a result, he started third in a b-main, which he won to lock into the 13th starting spot for the 40 lap finale.

In the feature his #12 Hughes Race Car would be a rocket ship as he quickly advanced through the field, and on lap 19 he would take over the top spot. The remainder of the feature would see him leave the competitors in the dust as he claimed the win by over three second. He was followed across the finish line by Kelly Shryock, Ryan Gustin, Jeremy Payne, and Dereck Ramirez. The win was his fourth of the Hunt and his fourteenth of the 2011 campaign! Full results are available at www.USMTS.com.

Much to the dismay of Jason in his hopes to make up major ground in the Casey's General USMTS Championship Hunt, the events scheduled for Friday through Sunday night all fell victim to rain. Mother Nature claimed the wins at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma), Salina High Banks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma), and West Plains Motor Speedway (West Plains, Missouri).

Jason continues to be third in the Casey's General USMTS Hunt standings behind leader, Ryan Gustin, and Kelly Shryock, and Hughes Race Cars continues to lead the Tiger Rear Ends Manufacturers Points. The latest tour standings are available at www.USMTS.com.

Just three events remain in the 2011 Casey's General USMTS Hunt as the tour rolls into Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the 13th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree this weekend, September 22nd-24th.. The annual pilgrimage of the nation's best Open Wheel Modified pilots to the famed oval will offer a possible $15,000-to-win for the competitors. Action gets underway on Thursday night with a $3,000-to-win program, while a $4,000-to-win event will be held on Friday, and will conclude with an $8,000-to-win race on Saturday night.
