Jeremy Payne

Kevin Montgomery Tucson, ARIZ (October 16th, 2010) - The 2nd Annual Carl Trimmer Classic is in the books as Jeremy Payne captured the 25-Lap Total Seal Late Model Dirt Racing Series feature event at Tucson's USA Raceway.

Payne took the lead from his pole position and remained flawless for the entire race as his teammate RC Whitwell drove from fifth to take the second spot giving Jeff Sires and team EDG a one two finish. Whitwell battled Canadian Mike Balcaen for several laps before taking the runner up spot leaving Balcaen to settle for the show position.

Nick Bartels and Friday's preliminary winner Steve Drake rounded out the top five.

Travis Benson took home the UniFirst Super Stocks cash as he returned to victory lane for the first time in 2010 joining newly crowned UniFirst Champion Dwayne Hogan for the celebration. Hogan who finished fourth clinched the title only 28 points ahead of second place finisher Daniel Stricker with Brian Brown finishing third.

Bo Partain returned to Factory Stock dominance with a hard fought race to the front to capture the 20-Lap feature. Partain, who was sent to the rear two times, outlasted Bobby Erdman, Trevor Hidalgo, Dylan Newberg and Isaac Zaragoza for the win.

Zaragoza, who won 10 main events in 2010, sealed the deal on his first Factory Stock Championship with a fifth place run finishing out the year ahead of Hidalgo and Larry Leetch in championship standings.

While Pat Carney rolled to X-Mod victory lane it was Dusty Gauthier who wrapped up the inaugural X-Mod championship over Brandon Farrington and Ricky McGuire in one of the hardest fought point battles of the year.

Amanda Johnson beat 2010 Front Wheel Drive Hornet Champion Stephen Lee while Duane Jones took the Rear Wheel Drive Hornet win. Jim Hock was able to post a 13th place finish to seal his first Rear Wheel Drive Hornet Championship.
