(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Mars Racing made the short drive to Cedar Lake Speedway from July 2-4 for a special Independence Day weekend extravaganza at the New Richmond, Wisconsin facility, which featured both the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars. The three-day spectacular in their home state started on Thursday evening with two separate rounds of qualifying and a $3,000 to win elimination showdown. Jimmy Mars earned Fast Time honors in qualifying for Friday and knocked down the sixth quickest lap for Saturday prior to winding up fifteenth in the final rundown of the night's preliminary feature.

A pair of $20,000 winner's checks were then up for grabs over the weekend at Cedar Lake. Jimmy placed third in his loaded heat race on Friday night and later advanced up to sixth in the 40-lap main event to trail only victor Ashton Winger, Brandon Sheppard, Ricky Weiss, Dennis Erb, Jr., and Darrell Lanigan. In front of the CBS Sports Network cameras in Saturday's grand finale, Jimmy secured a heat race triumph before driving to a strong fifth place effort in the 40-lapper behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard, Cade Dillard, Ricky Weiss, and Dennis Erb, Jr. Complete results from all three contests can be viewed online by clicking on www.woolms.com.

The Menomonie, Wisconsin standout has two more World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series events on his radar on July 10-11 - once again in the Badger State. Later tonight, July 10, the #28 team will tackle Outagamie Speedway, as the national touring series makes their first-ever visit to the Seymour, Wisconsin oval for a $10,000 to win program. Another $10,000 top prize will then be on the line on Saturday evening, July 11 at Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wisconsin. Both races will be co-sanctioned by the Discount Shop Towels Dirt Kings Late Model Tour. More information about both weekend shows can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.
