(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Following a rain-out last Friday night at the Southern Ohio Speedway, the Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team competed in a single event over the weekend on Saturday evening, June 2 at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. A weekly show took place at PRP and a $2,000 top prize was on the line.
Josh McGuire timed in sixth quickest during the qualifying session and later won the dash to earn the pole position for the A-Main. The Grayson, Kentucky driver hung around the front of the field early in the race and was in the third spot on lap thirteen when a spark plug wire came loose. Due to the mechanical woes, Josh was forced to retire from the event and was relegated to a disappointing fourteenth place finish. A pair of $3,000 to win United Super Dirt Car Series (USDCS) programs are on the radar for the #41 team this upcoming weekend (June 8-9). Up first will be a trip to the Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom, Kentucky tonight for the ‘Roger Breeding Memorial.’ The doubleheader weekend will then conclude on Saturday evening with the ‘Walter Combs Memorial’ at the Lucky 7 Speedway in Colson, Kentucky.
