SEMO Raceway located in Sikeston, MO held their 3rd points race of the 2005 season Saturday night June 4th.
Gilmore picks up 2nd feature win at SEMO Raceway
Featured winner this week is John Curtis Gilmore of Poplar Bluff, Mo who picked up his 2nd feature win in the
Rookie Class for 8-12 year olds this 2005 racing season. Gilmore set the fastest qualifying time of 15.489 seconds on the 1/5 mile semi banked clay oval track, placing him on the pole for the heat race where he dominated the field and won which sent him to the feature as the pole setter with Dalton Freed of Sikeston, MO setting on the outside. At the drop of the green flag Gilmore took the lead and held it for the entire caution free feature event. Gilmore also participates in the Jr. Sportsman Champ Class where he picked up a 4th place finish.
SEMO Raceway will be back in action June 25th with an added special event for Senior Champs. This special event will consist of a 30 lap endurance race with a $500 purse. So come on out and get a front row seat to see some awesome dirt track racing. Spectator gates open at 6:00pm and racing begins at 7:00pm.
