MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 29) – Karsyn’s Krusaders will “Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt One Lap at a Time” this Tuesday, Aug. 31, when the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour invades the Marshalltown Speedway in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Karsyn’s Krusaders are hosting “Dirt Madness” sponsored in part by Pizza Ranch and Bulldog Marketing in conjunction with the USMTS drivers, Dirt Knights and the Marshalltown Speedway. The evening activities will include live music, a fan walk, raffle prizes and more!
Karsyn Miller, age 5, was diagnosed with High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April 2008 and is currently undergoing treatment which will continue until September 2010.
Overwhelmed by the amount of support Karsyn received from family and friends, her parents, Andy and Jessica, knew they wanted to give back and help other families who need it.
In Fall of 2009, the Millers coordinated an effort with modified driver Darin Duffy and his wife, Jennifer, to raise funds for Make-A-Wish of Iowa, the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society and Give Kids the World. Each of these non-profit organizations helped Karsyn and her family through this difficult time.
T-shirts, race decals and bracelets were sold to raise nearly $11,000 in three months. This effort received national attention when it was featured in Dirt Modified Magazine.

Fans can sign up and pay for the fan walk between now and Tuesday. Last-minute sign-ups will be accepted on Tuesday from 4:45-5:45 p.m.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Tuesday, hot laps begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 p.m. In addition to the USMTS Modifieds competing in Round 11 of The Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Championship, the racing card will also feature the Dart Iron Man Challenge for USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars and B-Mods.
On race day, fans can pick up coupons good for $2 off adult admission at all four Casey’s General Stores locations in Marshalltown. Tim Donlinger and his #3D Cheetos USMTS Modified will be greeting fans and signing autographs from 12-2 p.m. at the 1402 S. 12th Ave. location in Marshalltown.
