(Paducah, KY) Opening night at Paducah International Raceway and the 2009 racing season at PIR is finally here. To add to the excitement and buzz, NASCAR Star Kenny Wallace will be running his JEGS sponsored Modified in the opening night’s festivities to compete against the local fan favorites. Kenny is very excited about the upcoming visit to PIR and hopes that he will be able to visit the track as often as his schedule will permit. He would like to extend an invitation to all fans to come join him on opening night and kick off the 2009 season.

Although the weather has been chilly, the atmosphere around the opening night by fans, competitors and drivers is hot. PIR is proud to be kicking off its fourth season under the new management team. The track has seen many new improvements each year since the gates reopened and PIR will strive to continue their efforts in creating the best possible race track for the fans and competitors. The gates will open at 4:00 pm for competitors and 5:00pm for race fans on opening night, March 27. The racing action starts at 7:30pm. Dress warm and bring your appetite for speed as the 2009 racing season will begin at PIR. Classes running opening night will be the UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Pro Late Models, UMP Street Stocks and the UMP Warriors.
