Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway Gears Up for Busy Memorial Day Weekend!

(CALVERT CITY, KENTUCKY) The Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky is gearing up for an ultra-busy weekend of racing action this Memorial Day holiday weekend! A regular show featuring UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, C.A.R.S. Crate Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, and 4-Cylinders will headline the racing activity at the 3/8-mile, high-banked oval this Saturday evening, May 27. Gates will open for the event at 4:00 p.m. with the great racing action starting at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Grandstand admission is only $11.00 for adults, while children ages 12 and below are admitted free with a paying adult. Pit admission into the Saturday night event will be $25.00.

On Memorial Day, May 29, KLMS will play host to a spectacular day of dirt track racing, as the rain postponed ‘99’ will take place starting at 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Qualifying and heat races for the mega-event were completed on May 5, but the consolation events, heat winner’s dash, and 99-lap, $24,999 to win feature event, slated for May 6, were postponed until Memorial Day. Ticket stubs from the May 6 rainout can be used on Monday, May 29th or any other race. Be sure to spend Memorial Day at KLMS and watch Earl Pearson, Jr., Dan Schlieper, Terry English, Wendell Wallace, Bill Frye, Jimmy Mars, Shannon Babb, and many more competing for the second annual ‘99’
title!

After the conclusion of the ‘99’ feature event, the Calvert City oval will be prepped for a complete separate program later in the evening. Round one of the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Series “Kentucky Speedweeks” will take place at KLMS on Monday evening. A $3,000 top prize is up for grabs in the exciting Dirt Late Model event and many of the cars and stars that will be running the ‘99’ earlier in the day are sure to stick around for the nightcap. The tire rule for the BoB Series is as follows: LM 20, 40, 55 or American Racer 44-56 - No 1300, 1600, or Stars. The UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will also be featured on the card, as a $2,000 to win show is scheduled for their division. The C.A.R.S. Crate Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, and 4-Cylinder classes will also be in action at KLMS on Memorial Day.

Gates will open at noon for the Memorial Day event at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway with the racing action starting promptly at 3:00 p.m. Adult admission for the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Series show will be $25.00, while pit admission will be $35.00. Children under the age of 13 will once again be admitted free with a paying adult.

There is ample camping area located around the grounds at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway, so feel free to spend the entire weekend with us! There are no hook-ups available. There are also many attractions that you can enjoy while you and your family visit the races at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway.
