KLMS Ready for Inaugural 99 Event this Weekend

(CALVERT CITY, KENTUCKY) The Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway is gearing up for the inaugural ‘99’ event, which is scheduled for May 5-7 at the state-of-the-art facility in southwestern Kentucky. Drivers from around the country will be on hand for the $24,999 to win, $1,999 to start event. Sherri Heckenast, second year promoter at KLMS, has decided this week not to issue a driver’s list.

The exciting weekend of Dirt Late Model competition will kick off on Thursday evening, May 5, with an open practice session. Group qualifying and heat races are slated for Friday, with consolation events and the 99-lap feature event scheduled for Saturday. Gates will open at 12 Noon on all three days, while racing action will kick off at 7:00 p.m. Also on the race card with the Dirt Late Models on Friday will be the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds and the Steel Block Late Models. On Saturday evening, the UMP Open Wheel Modified, Steel Block Late Model, Pure Stock, and 4-Cylinder classes will also be in action.

Admission prices for each of the three days are as follows:
Thursday
Pit Gate: $15.00
(Grandstands will be closed in order to keep facility clean and to prepare food for weekend)

Friday
Pit Gate: $30.00
General Admission: $20.00
Kids 5-12: $5.00
Kids Under 5: FREE
(There will be a live band on Friday night after the races for fans and racers to enjoy)

Saturday
Pit Gate: $35.00
General Admission: $20.00
Kids 5-12: $5.00
Kids Under 5: FREE
(There will be two-day pit passes available for $60.00)

The first annual ’99’ will be a UMP-sanctioned event and will feature a 20, 40, and D55 tire rule. Tires, parts, and fuel will be available at the track all three days.

The 3/8-mile, high-banked clay oval is conveniently located off of I-24 at Exit 27 in Calvert City, KY. Plenty of parking and designated camping is available with no hook-ups.
