A nice crowd turned out on night three of the 2010 season at Belle-Clair Speedway. They were treated to Awesome racing all night long. They were treated to late race passes for feature wins by Bobby Bittle in the UMP Modifieds & by Dennis Ponder in the UMP/AARA Pure Stocks. They also saw UMP Late Model Driver Michael Kloos take a feature win from his 14th starting position.
In the Modified division Dean Hoffman & Brett Korves took heat race honors. The 20 lap feature event was paced by Korves for the first 15 laps, all the while behind him Aaron Kleine battled with Paul Reinneck, and Bobby Bittle. They were wheel to wheel top to bottom trying to chase down Korves! Bittle would finally catch him on lap 16. The two swapped the lead 3 times in the final 5 laps with Bittle finally closing the deal on the final lap! Korves was 2nd ,Kleine 3rd. Hoffman made his way to fourth after a huge brush with the wall in turn 4. He was followed by Reinneck 5th & Jesse Wisely 6th his best finish ever at Belle-Clair!
The UMP Late Models had 24 competitors on hand with Frankie Martin, Justin Ketrow & Rodney “Starman” Standerfer all scoring heat race wins! In the semi feature Rick Standridge came out on top! Ketrow & Standerfer brought the field to the green flag in the 25 lap feature. Ketrow would take the early lead while fierce action was taking place behind him! Michal Kloos and Jimmy Gibson were masterfully making their way forward passing cars high & low! Kloos who started 14th would take the lead late and never looked back! Frankie Martin stormed around the high side & edged out Ketrow at the line for 2nd. Standerfer was 4th, Gibson 5th & Vince Grondzki 6th.
A Strong field of Pure Stocks showed up for the $250 to win Special! Brian Crawford, Brad Venhaus,& Zac Hoffman showed the way for heat race wins. Tommy “The Weatherman” Smallwood snagged the semi event. The Pure Stocks really put on a show for their special event. Everyone was on the edge of their seats as Dennis Ponder Tracked down Brad Venhaus who had lead the whole race. Ponder coming out of turn 4 on the final circuit squeaked by at the line to win by a bumper! Hoffman ran a strong 3rd,Troy Bunfill 4th, Andy Marlow & Randy Dietzel rounded out the top six.
In the UMP Sportsman division Mark Schaefer & Mike “Wahoo” Jones took the heats. The 15 lap feature event was up next and Wahoo Jones would lead every lap to take home the victory! Joe “Dog” Volluz was 2nd, Ryan Gegg finished with a nice 3rd, Corey Ford, Gary Haynes, & Brian Shubirg complete the top six.
The Pro 4 Stock heat winners were Ryan Emig & Brad Almond. Aaron Wood held off a hard charge from Austin Isaak to take his 2nd feature of the season! Ryan Emig was 3rd , Dale Bohnenstiehl 4th, Daniel Dodson 5th & Joe Swip 6th.
The make up feature from 4-2-10 was won by Austin Isaak leading every lap over Wood, Emig, Bohnenstiehl, Swip & Almond!
