Inside Line Promotions - STOCKTON, Calif. (March 19, 2019) - Kraig Kinser tied his season-best result with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Kinser kicked off the Silver Dollar Shootout presented by Reibes NAPA Auto Parts by qualifying fourth quickest in his group. A fourth-place finish in a heat race locked him into the 15th starting position for the main event at the quarter-mile oval in Chico, Calif.

"It was positive to get up front in qualifying, but we need to take advantage of it," he said. "We started midpack in the feature because we weren't able to maintain in the heat race. We lost a little bit in the heat and that put us where we have been running. There were definitely signs of progress there, but with everyone being so even and positions so hard to gain we need to do better when we qualify up front."

Kinser's 15th-place finish marked the fourth time he's placed 15 th this season during World of Outlaws competition.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Stockton Dirt Track during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown. Kinser timed in 29th quickest. He rallied from eighth to sixth in a heat race and from ninth to sixth in the Last Chance Showdown, but narrowly came up short of making the A Main.

"We didn't get started in the best position in qualifying and that's been a problem for us," he said. "It's tough to overcome starting in the back. We moved forward in both the heat race and Last Chance Showdown, but not enough to overcome qualifying."

Kinser's next opportunity to compete is this Friday at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif., during the Ocean Outlaw Showdown before he ventures to Placerville Speedway in Placerville, Calif., on Saturday for the 49er Gold Rush Classic presented by Riebes NAPA Auto Parts.

Kinser hasn't raced at Ocean Speedway since 2008. His best finish at Placerville Speedway came during his debut in 2015 when he placed 16 th.

"I'm looking forward to getting back to Ocean Speedway," he said. "I like that area of California and it will be good to get more laps there. We've raced more often at Placerville Speedway so hopefully we can start the night strong there."
