Laskey wins special Poweri show at Doe Run Raceway

DOE RUN, MO--(July 7, 2006) The O'Reilly Powri Outlaw Micro Racing Series event held at the Raceway this past Friday night proved to be an overwhelming success for both fans and racers alike.

The 3t driven by Tayrn Laskey and the 02 of Riley Adair kept the fans on the edge of their seats during the 25 lap, 24 car feature race, swapping the lead several times. At the end though, it was Laskey over Adair. Casey Barnhouse of Farmington, MO finished third in the event, Derek King fourth and Eric Edwards fifth. Heat race winners were Laskey (first heat), Adair (second heat), Barnhouse (third heat) and Tony Roney (fourth heat). Kevin Bayer won the six lap dash for cash and Brad McDaniel was the winner of the B-Main.

Shannon Burch returned to the winners circle in the always exciting 15 lap Mini Stock feature. Burch was followed by Bill Nickelson, CJ Wright, Ray Statler and Megan Bell. Heat race winner were Wright (first heat) and Burch (second heat).

Andrew Cash won the Stock Kart feature event followed by Scottie Gretzmacher, Jesse Wright, Carson Heady and Maggie Almon. Heat race winners were Cash (first heat) and Gretzmacher (second heat).

Racing will resume Friday, July 14 with all classes participating. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., practice begins at 7:30 p.m., racing begins at 8:00 p.m. For more information, including complete results and point standings log on to the tracks website at www.doerunraceway.com or phone (573) 756-8889.
