FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Eagle, Nebraska – September 8, 2013 - Danny Lasoski took advantage of a late race caution to pass race leader Jason Johnson and hold on the final two laps to claim the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car feature with the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest region Sunday night during the annual running of the “Nebraska Cup” at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska.

Jack Dover and Tony Bruce, Jr. started on the front row for the thirty lap feature with Dover taking the lead as the green flag fell and fourth starting Lasoski roaring into the runner up position.

Lapped traffic came into play on lap eight allowing sixth starting Johnson and Bruce to close on the Lasoski for second. With the top four threading their way through lapped traffic, lap ten brought the crowd to their feet as they were three wide for the lead with Dover holding off Lasoski with leading the lap.

A lap eleven caution for Trevor Grossenbacher, the restart brought no less than four lead changes between Dover and Lasoski in two laps before Dover was able to clear himself from Lasoski. Johnson would get passed Lasoski for the runner up position on lap fourteen and used lapped traffic to his advantage to begin pressure on the leader.

On lap twenty-one, business picked back up once again up front as Johnson executed several slide jobs on Dover and finally took the lead with six laps to go. Dover tried to mount a return trip for the lead but mechanical gremlins struck with five laps to go and he was issued with a DNF.

A late race caution bunched the field with two laps to go with Lasoski right on Johnson’s rear bumper. He would then driver the #1m Mark Burch owned sprinter underneath Johnson in turns one and two and would pull out into the lead heading down the back stretch.

“The Dude” would hold on to take the lead and the $5000 paycheck, along with the “Nebraska Cup.” Fifteenth starting Brian Brown got passed Johnson on the last lap to finish second while Bruce settled for fourth. Current NCRA sprint car point leader C.J. Johnson started fourteenth and would round out the top five.

The four heat races for the forty-three car field were won by Lasoski, Bruce, Dover and Jason Danley while Brown and Gregg Bakker won the two, “B” features.

The next event for the NCRA 360-ci sprint car tour will take place on Saturday night, September 28th at 81 Speedway in Park City with a special $3000 to win event.
