Granite City, IL -- Tri-City Speedway has another big weekend of Dirt Late Model racing on tap this week with Saturday's Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Racing Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Sunday.

Bert Jacoby will try to make it two in a row in the Mountain Dew Sportsmen ranks following a thrilling lap by lap duel last week with Marty Kopp and Steve Maisel. Last Saturday's win was the second on the season for Jacoby, who also celebrated his 40th birthday. Michael Kloos swept the Dodge Ironman Late Models, winning his heat and the 25-lap main event over five-time winner Tom Krankel and Shannon Kuhn.

Ed "Smokey" Lenhardt is looking to repeat after winning his first Budweiser Modified main event of the season over Ray Walsh, who raced to the front from deep in the field. Ken "The Ice Cube" Johnson, Jr., won his third Domino's Street Stock feature of the year last week while David Pulley, Jr., won his first career Auto Trader Factory Stock main event.

Spectator gates for the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Racing Series open at 5 p.m. Saturday with racing at 7 p.m. Adults $10.00, Students (11-17) $5.00 and Children 10 and under just $2.00.

On Sunday speed records will be shattered and the half-mile dirt will be torn to shreds when the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the "Dirty Dozen" make their inaugural appearance at Tri-City Speedway Sunday, August 1.

The "Dirty Dozen," a roster of the nation's best Dirt Late Model drivers, will perform in all their dirt-spewing insanity for a 40-lap $10,000-to-win shootout on Tri-City's blindingly fast half-mile. Scott Bloomquist, a 2003 winner at Tri-City, is the catalyst of the "Dirty Dozen," and is the counterpart to the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series' Steve Kinser. St. Louis-area favorites Billy Moyer is also committed to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, with drivers Rick Auckland, Mike Balzano, Chubb Frank, Rick Eckert, Bart Hartman, Dale McDowell, Dan Schlieper, Darrell Lanigan, Clint Smith and Steve Francis making up the balance of the "Dirty Dozen."

Three-time Tri-State Speedway Champion and Late Model veteran Bert Cheatham will strap into his late model to see how well he stacks up against the famous dozen.

"The Dirty Dozen are the best drivers in the nation and I will try and do my best; we'll just see what I have for them," said Cheatham.

Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame inductee Ed Dixon will also be at Tri-City with his Bloomsdale Excavating/St Lewis Carpenters Union Monte Carlo.
"We're looking forward to running with the series, it's a good series and a lot of the drivers are old friends," said Dixon. "We like running at Tri-City and we're looking forward to the level of competition the World of Outlaws brings to the track with the Dirty Dozen."
Tri-City Speedway owner and promoter Bob Wente is looking forward to hosting the World of Outlaws Dirty Dozen to his facility.
"This was a great opportunity to bring the World of Outlaws brand name back in to this market, the credibility that comes along with the World of Outlaws name is unmatched," said Wente.

Bloomquist has won at Tri-City before and is counting on his track experience to regain the points lead over Steve Francis.

Also sharing the racing card Sunday are the UMP Modifieds in a 25-lap, $1,000 to win UMP sanctioned points race on Tri-City's tight quarter-mile dirt track.
