Lebanon,Mo.-The long awaited return of the Show-Me Racin Series LateModels to the LebanonMidwaySpeedway fell to mother nature Friday ngiht as heavy rains hitting the Lebanon area Wed and Thursday forced cancellation of the event.
Track owner Jack Jones made the final call at 11AM Friday morning after attempts to get on the track itself and get the surface ready failed.
"Our pits were alright and could handle the already recieved rain,but the track itself just wasn't going to be in good shape and was extremely wet all the way down.This race was very well recieved by both fans and drivers but it just wasn't going to happen.This was after the Lebanon area recieved well over 4 or more inches of rain late Thursday Afternoon which caused flooding in low lying areas."
Track officials and race officials are looking at maybe another option to run this event named.
LebanonMidway is currently scheduled to run its regular points events on Friday Sept 10th to resume action.Midway is running through Sept and will run the popular Coca-Cola Fall brawl the first weekend of October.
