Richmond, KY-July 19, 2008- The O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Graphic Impressions made its annual July pilgrimage to the Mark and Tommy Trimble promoted Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY for the 21st Annual Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial race and series points leader Victor Lee of Stanford, KY would continue his winning ways by scoring his first win in this prestigious event and claiming $5,000 for his efforts.

Lee would start third in the event and score his sixth win on the season and seventh series win of his career in the Frank Revel owned, Kentucky’s Best/Budda Bert Transmisssions and Sales/Junction City Quick Stop/Tim Logan Racing/Xtreme Style Signs and Graphics/ Five Star Food Marts/ADO’s Auto Parts sponsored #4 C.J. Rayburn Race Car, Jay Dickens Race Engines powered mount. Lee also receives product support from Bilstein Shocks, PPM Racing Products, Custom Cams, Dyer’s Top Rods, Real Racing Wheels, American Racer Tires, CT Marketing, and Wiles Driveshafts.

Josh McGuire of Grayson, KY scored runner-up honors in the event after winning at Richmond back in May aboard the D.J.’s Kitchen Corner/D&C Saylers Construction sponsored C.J. Rayburn Race Car, with Dustin Linville of Lancaster, KY scoring a third place finish in the Barnes Family Dentistry/Paul Benton Auto Body sponsored C.J. Rayburn Race Car. Fourth place would go to Aaron Hatton of Mount Sterling, KY in the C.J. Rayburn Race Cars sponsored Rayburn entry, with Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN completing the top five in the Mike Jewell Racing owned MPC Motorsports/Southern Indiana Rock Drilling sponsored MasterSbilt Race Car.

The remainder of the top ten would be Don O’Neal, Chris Combs, Tyrel Todd, Eddie Carrier, Jr., and Jason Keltner. The event would be slowed by only one caution flag and took 22 minutes and 40 seconds to complete.

Josh McGuire would take the top spot and drop of the green flag on the O’Reilly A-Main event, with Joey Kramer, Victor Lee, Aaron Hatton, and Don O’Neal giving chase. Kramer would pressure McGuire immediately for the top spot and would drive to the lead on lap 3. With Kramer trying to pull away, Lee would mount a challenge on McGuire for second, while O’Neal pressured Hatton for fourth. By lap 10, Lee was side-by-side with McGuire for second and take the spot two laps later on lap 12.

Kramer would begin working slower traffic on lap 13, with Hatton getting away from O’Neal a bit for fourth, with Dustin Linville now pressing the issue with O’Neal for fifth. Lee would catch Kramer by lap 16 and the pair would race side-by-side for the lead the next two circuits, with Lee passing Kramer exiting turn two in slower traffic, only to have the only caution of the race fly for contact with the turn three wall from Shelby Miles. Back underway, Hatton would take third from McGuire in turn two on the Delaware double-file restart, with business picking right back at up the point between Kramer and Lee. Lap 23 would be very exciting as the pair of second-generation superstars traded slidejobs before Lee took command for good on lap 24. Meanwhile, McGuire had mounted a charge on Hatton for third and retook the spot at the lap 25 halfway signal.

With Lee beginning to open up a comfortable lead, Linville resumed his tussle with O’Neal for fifth and Linville would take the position on lap 31. With Kramer slipping in turn one, Hatton would go to the second spot one round later, with Lee continuing to motor away from the field, while McGuire would scoot past Kramer for third on lap 33. Lee’s torrid pace continued at the point, but Linville was charging himself, taking fourth from Kramer on lap 38.

As Lee drove off into the moonlight, the battle for second heated up between Hatton, McGuire, and Linville, with a three-wide battle in turn one and two having McGuire go to second, with Linville coming along to take third. The second place battle would close on Lee in traffic, but had no answer for Lee, who claimed the checkered flag first over McGuire, Linville, Hatton, and Kramer.

In preliminary action, O’Neal was the Racing Optics Top Qualifier among 30 entries with a lap of 15.580 seconds. Heat race checkered flags went to Josh McGuire in Wayne Bowen Racing Supply heat one, Aaron Hatton in K&N Performance Engineering heat two, Joey Kramer in Graphic Impressions heat three, and Victor Lee in Real Racing Wheels heat four. Shelby Miles and Mike Jewell would win the B-Main events, while Eric Wells and Arnie Fields earned series provisional starts, with Chris Ruble and Marty Stepp being the track provisionals.

The next event for the Super Late Model division of the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series will be at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH on Saturday July 26, paying $3,000 to win.
