JACKSONVILLE, FL (September 11, 2007)- The Lucas Oil Go-Kart Shootout presented by Earl Pearson Jr. slated for September 21-23rd is fast approaching. The Lucas Oil Pro-Class will pay $8,000 to the winner with over $19,000 in purse money being paid to all 30 drivers starting the feature event. The Pre-entry deadline for this event has been extended by two days to Wednesday September 19th. The unique format for this go-kart event will include four provisionals for the main feature event the Lucas Oil Pro-Class paying $8,000 to win.
To be eligible for the provisionals the driver MUST be pre-entered by September 19th. The 30 kart field for the Lucas Oil Pro Class will be set through six heat races and two b-mains to make up 26 drivers and the final four sports 27th-30th will be for the provisionals based on pre-entered drivers. Two provisional will be awarded to the fastest (pre-entered) qualifiers that do not transfer to the feature event through the heats or B-mains. The final two provisonals will be awarded to the two drivers (pre-entered) that run Stock Medium and Stock Heavy with the most combined points between the two classes on Saturday September 22nd that did not transfer into the Lucas Oil Pro-Class feature through the heats or B-mains.
An added benefit to pre-entering the event by September 19th a driver can save $90 on his entry by choosing the pre-entry combo pkg that includes the Stock Medium, Stock Heavy and the Lucas Oil Pro Class. All other classes also offer discounts on entry fees by pre-entering to any class running over the two day event. The Lucas Oil Go-Kart Shootout Presented by Earl Pearson Jr. will take place at the Johnston County Speedway in Garner, NC. Andy Harris a well respected go-kart event promoter in the NC area will be assisting Earl and the staff with this event. This event is unsanctioned but will be using WKA Engine Rules, Maxxis Tires only (Open Compound), AMB Timing and Scoring. All classes will qualify and line up straight up for features EXCEPT for the Lucas Oil Pro Class. The Lucas Oil Pro Class will qualify, run heat races and B-mains to fill the 30 Kart starting field. Friday September 21st will be an open practice day from 7pm-10pm. Saturday September 22nd will be the first race day with 10 classes running including Stock Lite, Stock Medium and Stock Heavy. Gates will open at 7am with practice beginning at 10am. Sunday will have six classes running including the $8000 to win Lucas Oil Pro Class. Gates open Sunday at 7am with practice beginning at 9am.
