OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (March 30) – Second-year sponsor Lunati expands its IMCA awards program to in¬clude special events competitors in five divisions.
The high performance parts manufacturer and distributor will give $100 product certifi¬cates to designated place finishers at specials for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMods.
"In year two, Lunati really wanted to involve more racers in their program and spreading certificates out at special events through the season accomplishes that goal,” said IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “It is great to have them back on board in an expanded role in 2011."
Lunati also renews awards for Stock Car, Hobby Stock and SportMod state champions, giving $100 product certificates to each.
Fourteen SportMod, 14 Stock Car and a dozen Hobby Stock state championships will be at stake in 2011.
Special event certificates will be mailed from the IMCA home office the week after those races are held. State championship prizes will be sent after those point standings become official in late October.
