M.A.R.S. Heads Into Missouri For West Plains Appearance

This Saturday night the stars and cars of the Mid American Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) will roar into action as they kick off their 2005 campaign in style making their first appearance of the season at West Plains Motor Speedway.

Leading the super late model competitors into battle will be defending series champion, Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO. Phillips, who claimed his second series championship in 2005 will not find the going easy as he will face a formidable field of competitors. Drivers expected to be on hand for this event include Wendell Wallace, Bill Frye, Al Purkey, Dewaine Hottinger, Jack Sullivan, Jeff Floyd, Jeff Taylor, Steve Rushin, Joey Mack, Leslie Essary, Tim Crawley, Gary Stolba, David Gibson, Stacy Taylor and many more super late model stars of the Midwest.

The Martians will invade West Plains Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 9. Don & Billie Gibson's speedplant is one of the mainstays on the M.A.R.S. tour each year and never fails to present the fans and drivers with a top notch program.

West Plains Motor Speedway is located 6 miles south of West Plains, MO on US Hwy. 63. Gates will open at 5:00, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 8 p.m. Adult admission is $15 , kids 7-11 $5, and those 6 and under are always free. Pit passes are $30. This will also be a full points program for weekly race classes.
