This saturday night August 30th will be the Art Lynch Memorial for the sportsman division, sponsored by Dean Garland Race Car Parts. $1,500.00 to the winner of the 50 lap feature. They called him Art tiny Lynch from Hillsboro, Ill who raced from the early 70's thru the mid ninety's before losing his life to cancer. His fellow racers always said it was fun racing with Art, because where ever he finished he always got out of his car with a smile on his face. Art raced tracks such as Macon, Centraila, Brownstown, Granite City, just to name a few, in early years he drove for little Pettie and then in his final years teamed up with his brother Corky Lynch. Most of his career was in a chevy, but in 1974 Art and Corky tried the Chrysler for about a year, before switching back to the chevys. I asked Art what he thought of the MOPAR that year and with a big smile on his face, he said My Ole Pig Ain't Runin MOPAR! IT was great to have known Art Lycnh and we hope his family is doing well. Along with Sportsman division, there will be the regular program of late models, Modifieds, and Street Stocks
