(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway and Skeff Distributing are proud to bring an extra special evening to the track this weekend to keep fans on the edge of your seats for the final night of racing at Macon Speedway for 2009. Fans will have the opportunity to view our newest division, High School Hornets, which will be open to all teens 16 and under. This will be the first time ever for this new division at Macon Speedway. Macon Speedway hopes to grow this division and get the area kids involved in racing at an early age, but without putting a strain on their families’ budgets by offering a division that is fun and reasonably priced. No experience is required to compete in this division; it is solely for the purpose of having fun at their local race track. Macon Speedway encourages the new division of drivers to express their school spirit by sporting their school colors paint schemes, and or mascots on their cars in whatever creative way they can.

The Street Stock division will be taking advantage of a racer promotion between Morgan County Speedway and Macon Speedway this Saturday for their final laps around Macon Speedway in 2009. Morgan County will host part one of the point fund race on Friday night, then the second and final night of racing for the points will be at Macon Speedway on Saturday, Oct 3. The points from the two features will be calculated and the top three drivers with the most points will share in a $400 added point fund for the two day event. The Street Stock division championship title is still up in the air for the year and will come down to the feature event. Blake Shelley of Oakley holds a lead over Decatur’s Steve Ewing in his Lightning McQueen car by 2 points!

Fans will be sure to stay warm on the chilly October night as the first 500 fans sporting NASCAR or Macon Speedway apparel will be treated to a free Macon Speedway hot dog and cup of hot chocolate. To thrill fans of all ages, Macon Speedway will host the first season ending FIREWORKS display! Kids will have a blast at Macon Speedway with FREE MONSTER TRUCK rides provided by RMF Motorsports, Decatur, IL. So bring your family and friends one last time to Macon Speedway this Saturday night for a night geared toward thanking our loyal fans for patronizing Macon Speedway all summer long! Listen to local radio stations for your chance to win a ride in the 2seater Macon Speedway Late Model!

Saturday night will also be featuring our UMP Modifieds. Our Modifieds will be qualifying for the first time this season to set their starting field. This will be the final night of racing to earn points to claim the title of 2009 Macon Speedway division champion and drivers will also earn UMP National points this Saturday, so if you’re looking for one last night of good racing for 2009 look no further than Macon Speedway.
