Macon Speedway Practice Re-scheduled

(Macon, IL) Weather conditions have forced Macon Speedway to re-schedule the practice session set to take place today (March 24). Track officials have postponed practice until Wednesday, March 28 beginning at 6:00 PM. Gates will open at 5:00. Test-n-Tune on Wednesday, March 28 is free for grandstand spectators. All race cars in all divisions are invited to try out the improved banking in the turns while dialing in fresh cars so they are ready for competition on opening night March 31.

Macon Speedway opens for the 2007 season on Saturday, March 31. Gates will open at 5:00 PM and racing will start promptly at 7:00 PM. Highlighting the March 31 lid-lifter at the fast 1/5 mile will be a special appearance of the Home Depot #20 car driven by two-time NASCAR champion (and Macon Speedway co-owner) Tony Stewart. The car will be on display from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. . Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late Model, Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2007 is the addition of the C.A.R.S. Late Models.

NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
