Macon Speedway This Week – Cinco De Mayo Plus Kenny’s Crazy Car Caper

(Macon, IL) Saturday, May 5, at Macon Speedway is filled with fun and excitement when the Speedway celebrates Cinco de Mayo. In addition to the contests and prizes associated with the celebration, the very first of Kenny’s Crazy Car Capers will take place. NASCAR Star and co-owner of Macon Speedway, Kenny Wallace will be giving away a previously-owned Chevrolet courtesy of Ewing Auto Sales of Decatur, Illinois.

Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late Model, Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2007 is the addition of the C.A.R.S. Late Models.

On Saturday, May 5, gates at Macon Speedway will open at 5:00 PM. Racing starts at 7:00. The first 255 fans to grandstand area of the Speedway will be treated to Chips and Salsa courtesy of Guadalajara and Mi Pueblito restaurants in Decatur.

General Admission is $10.00 for weekly races at Macon Speedway. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $25. Reserved seats are still available. Contact the Speedway at 217-764-3000 for more information.

May 12 is Meridian School night honoring the students and faculty of the Meridian School District plus special attention to our Mom’s and a Crazy Chicks n Cars ladies race in the Hornet cars. May 19 will be the first race in the “Fast Five Racer Appreciation Series”. Late Models will be racing for $1500 to win, special product prizes and an opportunity to win a Cruise for Two! NASCAR Night I on May 28 features the Northern All Stars Late Model Series and NASCAR Stars Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be in attendance.

NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and local Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
