(Macon, IL) The track is ready and racy, facility improvements continue daily, but Mother Nature just has not cooperated with Macon Speedway. After an Opening Night thunderstorm halted racing, week two came along with winter-like temperatures. Macon Speedway will make a third attempt at a full night of racing this Saturday, April 14.

Easter Fun that was scheduled for the April 7 event has been postponed until April 14. The Easter Bunny has agreed to make a belated appearance to distribute special eggs as children enter the gates. Many of the eggs will contain certificates for prizes and drawings will be held for several bicycles. Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late Model, Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2007 is the addition of the C.A.R.S. Late Models.

Fans and racers in attendance on Opening Night, March 31, will be able to use their tickets and wristbands as “rain checks” for free admission to the April 14 racing program. In addition, any fans with guest passes for the April 7 night of racing will be able to present them on April 14.

On Saturday, April 14, gates at Macon Speedway will open at 5:00 PM. Racing starts at 7:00.

General Admission is $10.00 for weekly races at Macon Speedway. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $25.

Mark your calendars:
Saturday, April 28, Macon Speedway will host driver/sponsor appreciation with a special time for fans to get their favorite drivers pictures and autographs. Advance reserved seat tickets for NASCAR Nights I and II (May 28 and June 14) will go on sale May 1. On May 5, a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta is planned and it will be the first night of Kids Club activities at Macon Speedway. May 12 is Meridian School night honoring the students and faculty of the Meridian School District plus special attention to our Mom’s and a Crazy Chicks n Cars ladies race in the Hornet cars.

NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
Macon Speedway – racing every Saturday Night – is proud to be part of the $100,000 Contingency Connection program for the 2007 season.
