MACON, IL – Saturday, June 16, is filled with fun and excitement as Macon Speedway plays host to Caterpillar® Decatur Employees. Caterpillar® Decatur employs over 3000 people and Macon Speedway has teamed up with the Human Resources department at Caterpillar® Decatur to provide a special night for their valued employees and their families.
On the agenda for the June 16 event is the Street Stock Saturday Night Special – part of the FAST FIVE Racer Appreciation Series at Macon Speedway. UMP Street Stocks will be racing for $500 to win plus additional prizes. June 16 is the night before Father’s Day and Macon Speedway will be saluting Dads with a drawing for some special prizes. Topping off the fun-filled night will be a Faster Pastors race with area clergy racing 4-cyl Hornet cars to take top honors as “Faster Pastor”.
Macon Speedway provides fun, edge-of-your-seat racing action, prizes and wholesome family entertainment on a weekly basis and Saturday, June 16, will be no different. From the most seasoned race fan to the newest enthusiast, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Macon Speedway.
Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late Models, Hogan Grain/Kubota Sportsman, BARBECK Communications Modifieds, Street Stocks and 4-Cyl Hornets. New for 2007 at Macon are the C.A.R.S. Crate Late Models.
NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and local Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
