CLARKSVILLE, TN – Malden Speedway in Malden, MO is the latest track to join the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series. Malden Speedway becomes the first track west of the Mississippi River to join the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series features economical engines produced by GM Performance and sealed at the factory. The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series gives weekly short track competitors an opportunity to compete in an economical late model division against drivers at other weekly tracks on a regional and national basis.

The steel head “602” engine sells for $2,950, and the aluminum head “604” engine sells for $4,950. Race cars using the 602 engine weigh 2,200 pounds, and get a 150 pound weight break over the race cars using the 604 engine that must weigh 2,350 pounds. These engines are race-ready right out of the crate from the factory.

“We’re looking forward to a good working relationship with the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series,” Malden Speedway Promoter Phil Santie said. “We had full blown Late Models with more expensive unlimited engines, but we couldn’t build a car count because we couldn’t pay the high purse they wanted.”

Santie said a lot of late model racers at Malden Speedway were quitting the Late Model Division because they couldn’t afford the high engine cost, and a friend told him about the more economical GM Performance Crate Engines.

“Not only could the track not afford the high Late Model Division purse, but a lot of racers couldn’t afford the high engine costs anymore,” Santie said. “A friend of mine at a GM dealership told me about the Crate Engines for the Late Models. The Crate Late Models made economic sense to me that with a level playing field, the competition would rely more on driver and set up, which makes for better racing. We also feel the StormPay.com sanction will properly police the division.”

In addition to joining the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, Malden Speedway will also host a StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring event on October 6-7 with the $5,000-to-win 2nd Annual Nathan Rettig Memorial Cotton Bowl Cup.

StormPay.com is a globally recognized leader in online payment processing and free online auction listings. StormPay lives up to its name with “lightning quick e-commerce.” The StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series is also lightning quick with the action on the track.
