May 20-21 doubleheader next for EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour

PRICE, Utah (May 10) – The defending series champion will look to repeat his winning ways when the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour returns to Desert Thunder Speedway for Friday and Satur¬day, May 20-21 features.
Zane DeVilbiss topped both IMCA Modified series features held at Price last June, a double¬header sweep that also helped pave the way to regional and national crowns. DeVilbiss ran se¬cond behind Porter Smith in the 2011 opener in April.
Desert Thunder opens the pit gates at 2 p.m. and the grandstand at 4 p.m. both days. Hot laps follow the 5:30 p.m. drivers’ meeting and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for kids ages 6-12 and free for young¬sters five and under. A family pass runs $25. Two-day passes are $16 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for kids.

Both features pay $1,000 to win and are qualifying events for the 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invita¬tional ballot if there are 40 or more entries. First place will pay $750 if there are 39 or fewer en¬tries.
DeVilbiss, from Farmington, N.M., and Dove Creek, Colo.’s Aaron Spangler both own two career EQ WWMT wins at Price. One-time winners include Ricky Alvarado of Delta, Colo., Derek Kopp of Montrose, Colo., Justen Yeager of Green River, Wyo., and Colton Vanderherp of Ferron.
Smith, another Farmington flyer, took his career-first series victory on April 22 at Aztec Speed¬way; the series saw another first the next night when the Saturday show was lost to inclement weather.
After four seasons and 60-plus events, the EQ Wild West Tour sees its first midweek action Wednes¬day and Thursday, June 15-16 at Battle Mountain, Nev., Raceway. Both races are also part of the Evenson Law Office Ironman Challenge Series.
