Medlock Truss Race Night at West Plains Motor Speedway

Racing events at West Plains Motor Speedway were sponsored by Medlock Truss of Ash Flat, AR, Saturday night. All classes competed and it was a welcomed night of racing after events got dampened the week before.

Rustin Miller of Houston, MO, scored a feature win in the IMCA Modified class. It was evident Miller was hooked up and ready for the upcoming open wheel Dirt Work's Show-Me Championship. Taking second was Shawn Walsh of Ash Flat, AR and Kevin Salter of Batesville, AR, came in third.

Super Stock feature winner was Stan Ellison of West Plains, with a strong run. Rounding out the top three were Dee Kelly of Birch Tree, MO, and Bobby Ratterree of Mtn. Grove, MO.

Chuck Russell of West Plains, took the Hobby Stock feature honors this week with Rick Cooper of Thornfield, MO, and Bobby Bryant of West Plains completing the top three.

Cruiser feature winner honors went to the always enthusiastic Bill Johns of Hardy, AR, with Jason Johnson of Hardy, AR, and Chris Skinner of Moody, MO, taking second and third.

Making a return appearance for a second week in a row was Jerry Doane of West Plains, as he won the Front Wheel Drive feature event again.

Finishing second was Brad Sanders and David Elms, both of West Plains.
Members of the Medlock family were special guests during the evening. Fans were treated to special give aways and feature winners received cases of oil compliments of Medlock Truss Co., of Ash Flat, AR.

This week begins the 3-day 12th annual Dirt Work's sponsored Open Wheel Modified Show-Me Championship events. The event format includes three nights of qualifying action along with a nightly feature where eight will transfer to the Saturday night main event that pays $6,000 to win and $600 to start. This is a non-sanctioned open wheel modified event.

Support class action will include Hobby Stock and Front Wheel Drive on Thursday night. Friday night will include Cruiser class and Youth Hobby Stock and Saturday night will find the Super Stock running along with the modified action. Spectator gates will open at 6 p.m., each night, with hotlaps set for 7:30 p.m., and racing action will get underway at 8 p.m.

Adult admission will be $7, with children $2, on Thursday and Friday. Saturday night adults will get in for $10 and the children $3. Children 6 and under are always free at West Plains Motor Speedway.
